Topic: Mountains and Melodies: An Appalachian Trail Symphony
Keane Southard hiked the New England portion of the Appalachian Trail, which inspired his Appalachian Trail Symphony: New England, as well as an opera set on the trail that is currently in development. Join this conversation with Keane as he explains his process, inspiration, and how one converts an immersive backpacking experience into an auditory journey.
In addition:

- Donate money during registration to support the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, the organization that protects, manages, and advocates for the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

About the Speakers
Keane Southard is a composer and pianist who believes deeply in the power of music to be a catalyst for positive change in the world and change how people think, feel, and act. His music features a wide range of styles and approaches from traditional to experimental, systematic to free, and sacred to secular, reflecting a belief that creativity is stimulated by exploring and finding value in all aspects of the spiritual and physical worlds. Keane holds a PhD in music composition from the Eastman School of Music.

Only register if you can attend this event in person
- A recording of each event (excluding the conversation portion) will be uploaded to the Intentional Hiking YouTube channel.
